Hoover

I purchased a Hoover PowerDash on sale several months ago knowing I would be doing a one-time cleaning this spring before I moved. I opened the box just over a week ago and put the unit together which was very easy.

I vacuumed my carpet and proceeded to attempt to wash it with the PowerDash. After a few minutes I realized the PowerDash was not dispersing the water with the solution. I made sure the tank was aligned properly which it was. I took the tank out and pressed the star piece inside the cap which allowed flow.

Thinking it may work I put the tank back in and tried to clean again. The unit did not disperse water. So I held the trigger down for a minute as suggested in the manual and it still did not disperse. I then ran 3 tanks of ht water through it in the sink and put the canister back in the unit and still it did not disperse.

I then took the brush unit out and cleaned all around and poked the holes where the solution should flow through with a pick tool as shown in the manual. I blew out the holes to make sure they were totally clear. I put unit back together and still it would not disperse. I took the cap off the canister to make sure the star piece in the cap was functioning properly.

It fell apart and the spring went flying. I ordered a new cap. a few days later I received the new cap and put it on the canister. Still no water solution dispersing.

I then wrote Hoover. That was over a week ago. I have not had a response.

I was so frustrated I ordered a new carpet cleaner made by Kenmore. I am throwing this one away.

Didn't get an opportunity to speak to someone.

I have really enjoyed having my Hoover clean slate.

It does such a good job; very, very impressive. I got it at Home Depot, and it was recommended to me by people who worked at Home Depot. I probably had it a year, year and a half at most. It seems it's been working great, then all of a sudden I want to use it this week after three weeks ago I used it, and now it won't work.

It comes on, but it won't—the water won't go through. I did the recommendations by dropping the hose down to the floor because of air bubbles or something, but nothing I did based on your recommendations worked.

The unit looks great, but I just need help with trying to understand how I can make it work again. Thank you.

I purchased a Hoover small spot / carpet cleaner from Amazon. It worked fine for one hour.

Second use a valve failed and was impossible to move without great force. Spoke to the 800 number 9 times (!) and wrote to them 10 times. It was completely unbelievable what they demanded. Normal: Name & address & similar.

OK. Then.. They demanded the Amazon receipt, pix of the nameplate, pix of the serial number plate, full description of the problem, then!!! They demanded a MOVIE of the problem.

What good is a movie of a button that will not move I wondered. I sent ALL the information they wanted. Then they told me they had not received it! I sent it again from my desktop and my cell.

No response from hoover. MANY phone calls! Many agents! All for one small valve.

I found it unbelievable. And to make things worst was the fake boilerplate "Courtesy"! I hate it. "Thank you for your patience in holding" .

"You are the BEST PART OF HOOVER". "We totally understand your frustration". On and on. I am leaving a LOT out to save endless typing.

I have dealt with countless companies but hoover is hands down the VERY WORST in being two faced. They wasted literally hours of my time and their time also. I was on hold countless times.

hoover did succeed in on thing: They totally destroyed all brand loyalty for any product they make. I would not accept ANYTHING from them even if for free.
